Subject: Illegal Immigration
Hi Tom & Margo,
We must surely be living in the last days.  AZ passed the immigration law that allows any police officer to search & enter ANY resident in the state on the suspicion that an illegal immigrant may be hiding.  Doesn’t that some fairly familiar??  Any reader of Corrie ten Boom will recall what results from this kind of witch-hunt.
Peace be with you!!!
Will

Subject: Illegal immigration

Dear Will,

Good to hear from you.  Thanks for sharing your opinions.  I see these same points of view expressed often in the media, and you are the lucky one that gets to hear my frustration at the misperception of the events of our day.

In this essay I will cover the following points and issues:
1) The agenda of Mexico to take back the Southwest.
2) The 10th Amendment
3) The Commerce Clause
4) Agenda of the Globalists
5) Liberty vs. Safety
6) Text of Arizona SB 1070
7) The cost of illegal immigration
8) The cost and responsibilities of citizenship
9) Commitment, ritual, and adoption as the doorway to citizenship

Cartoon illustrating the problem of Our Country vs. Your Country

You Tube Testimony of Gabriella at Tucson City Council meeting, chiding them for considering suing the State of Arizona for passing and enforcing SB1070

The flood of illegal immigration from the southern border Mexicans is not just about jobs and opportunity – Mexico wants to take back California, Arizona, and New Mexico.  The Islamists employ this same strategy to populate and overtake a state from within.  As their population in a host country grows, they become increasingly vocal in demanding their “rights”.  They appeal to our sense of compassion, fairness, and Christian charity, while demanding equal treatment under the law.  But, their goal is subversion rather than fidelity to the letter and spirit of law.  They use the tools of a democracy made morally weak by its worship of tolerance, diversity, honoring “rights to privacy”, multiculturalism, sympathy for the victim/perpetrator, and guilt about past discrimination.  To this end, the Mexican government teaches how to take advantage of our laws safety net laws such as Welfare, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.  A nation without a true understanding of the nature of God-given rights, boundaries, and responsibilities of relationship can fall prey to the specious arguments and ploys of those who wish to fundamentally change our culture.

When a person comes to work and live in the United States as a legal immigrant, they must carry their Green Card (US Permanent Residence Card) on their person at all times.  While uncommonly enforced, other than at times of reentry into the States, requests for presentation of documentation of citizenship does not violate one’s right to privacy if the request is in a relevant context such as employment, membership, taxation, and security clearance, or under scrutiny for violation.  Likewise, when the numbers of illegals have become so high that the fabric of society is challenged, a more aggressive reparative approach must be taken to return citizenship and national culture to its proper meaning and health.

We rightfully fear the day when a national identification card becomes a tool of the oppressor to enforce ethnic and religious purity.  But, that day has not come; in fact its opposite has arrived.  Because dereliction of enforcement our nation is threatened with dilution by a foreign culture.  We have grown timid as a nation as we worship at the altar of the new “highest virtue” – tolerance.  We now comply with any demand of multiculturalism, fearful of being called the dreaded titles: Klansman, Nazi, hate-monger, and intolerant bigot.  The morally confused have felt the need to atone for the sins of previous generations and sought to expunge their “white guilt” by such misguided efforts as reparations, affirmative action, and race-based quotas.

SB 1070 Excerpt: A law enforcement officer, without a warrant, may arrest a person if the officer has probable cause to believe that the person has committed any public offense that makes the person removable from the United States.
Except as provided in federal law, officials or agencies of this state and counties, cities, towns and other political subdivisions of this state may not be prohibited or in any way be restricted from sending, receiving or maintaining information relating to the immigration status of any individual or exchanging that information with any other federal, state or local governmental entity for the following official purposes:

In the Arizona law, SB 1070, if you are stopped for probable cause, you can be asked to show your identification and proof of citizenship.  This current law was catalyzed into passage by public outrage over the murder of a rancher by an illegal alien in Southern Arizona.  And while this level of enforcement of citizenship is new within the USA, it has become appropriate given the threat and presence of lawless activity by illegal aliens in the border States.  Responding with preventive and restorative force is appropriate when a threat or action is sufficiently great.

But, as is true of all law, vigilance and wisdom must be employed to prevent abuse of power.  Opening the door to actual enforcement of citizenship could be the entry point for the evil of registration and unrighteous persecution of religious groups or political positions opposing the regime.  And, we know that a law meant for good in one scenario by a righteous government can be used for evil by an unrighteous government.  The color and cover of law can be used to give superficial justification and authorization for acts of extreme suppression in the hands of the power-hungry ideologues.

Placed in context, we currently demand identification of those who have come under the scrutiny of law enforcement officers for minor violations.  Neither the possession of identification or license has been problematic, but obviously it is a step toward enabling the state being able to take larger control of our lives.  Commonly at this point in the discussion, the quote by Benjamin Franklin regarding liberty and safety in its various paraphrased forms is presented:

They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither.

He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security.

He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither.

People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both.

If we restrict liberty to attain security we will lose them both.

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither.

Those who would trade in their freedom for their protection deserve neither.

Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security.

While all law is on the path toward slavery, we must necessarily employ it as a guideline to govern social behavior.  Ideally, law states only the generalities and principles of a violation and right behavior.  And ideally, the citizenry takes those general principles, an applies them toward righteous government of their individual lives and actions.  Taking the spirit of law, governing one’s passions, taking care for the needs and boundaries of others, is the essence of following the spirit of the law, and it gives life.  Abiding by the spirit of the law gives us the maximum appropriate liberty.  When we govern our lives according to the Lordship of Christ, we live by the Word, by the law written on our hearts by the Holy Spirit.  When we govern ourselves by this inner law and guidance, there is little need for forceful governance by the state and its agents.

As a degenerate society, as rebels against the Law of God, as a people deaf and dumb to the speaking of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, we have fallen victim to Godless leaders with an agenda (or extreme ignorance, foolishness, stupidity, or rebellion) and allowed the lawless aliens to infiltrate our shores without limit.  We have not come against this offense under the pretense of tolerance and honoring human rights.  It is time we reverse this foolish disregard for the innately obvious principles of boundary, community, and trusted fellowship.  Now is the time to erect walls that keep the unauthorized foreigner from invading our shores, disrupting our commerce, and committing violence against our people and land.

To date, there had been no compelling need to show proof of citizenship within the States, since the assumption of citizenship was reasonably valid.  Throughout this tranquil period, there were laws requiring the resident alien to carry his Green Card.  To date, there has been no repeal of laws regarding illegal entry and requirement to carry and present proof of legal resident status.  But, we have lived through an era some have called “Hispandering” – seeking to win Hispanic votes by passing favorable legislation, or benign (and possibly purposeful) neglect in enforcing the immigration laws.

To a significant degree, the Federal Authorities had handled citizenship issues fairly strictly prior to the 1970s.  But, in recent decades, a massive insurgency of illegal aliens has poured across the US/Mexico border, and the problems caused by the illegal aliens’ presence have become so significant that a call has risen from “the People” for the government to exercise their duty to enforce the laws regarding citizenship.

To enforce just/good/righteous laws already present is to simply properly execute one’s obligation as a public servant.  By Constitutional declaration, immigration is under the purview of Federal authority, but the Federal government has silently vacated its obligation to enforce righteous law.  Thus, the States have necessarily filled that vacuum and begun to assume the role of enforcers in the absence of action by Federal authorities.

There is no meaningful difference between asking for identification after a minor traffic violation and asking for proof of citizenship.  Both involve a confrontation between the authorities who are attempting to enforce the law, and proof of identity.  The concern is the activation of the State in enforcing laws that were once used as a tool of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and bringing the master race to power.

4th Amendment: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

The concern for random checks of identity, and invasion of one’s private spaces without cause, is rooted in our visceral understanding of the need for government to limit enforcement activities to situations with probable cause, and to subsequently issue a warrant for the specific items expected search and seizure.  And, in concert with this principle, the Arizona law, SB 1070, has provision for search and seizure of person and property only when fulfilling the general family and rubric of probable cause.

Your concern about Nazi-style visits by enforcement agencies is valid in the context of the current Federal government administration, with its commitment to socialistic/communistic principles, with gun-ban enforcement agendas, a hostility toward Israel and Christianity, a policy of appeasement with Islamic nations, a policy of unilateral disarmament, a philosophy of enforced egalitarianism through wage caps and confiscatory taxes wages, and the promotion of humanist worldviews and acceptance of sharia law.

As always, we walk a fine line between the employing the proper use of the power of government in enforcing good and Godly principles, and giving power to a government which seeks to misuse its righteous role and place men under unGodly subjugation.  This distinction centers on the distinction and identification of righteous/unrighteous government.  The US Constitution is an embodiment of principles developed by men who were dedicated to Godliness.  The nation has struggled to maintain itself as nominally Christian, but even these weak efforts have resulted in our being blessed with great prosperity.  And while the framework we inherited was Godly, even the most Godly governmental framework can be bent and perverted by those wishing for unGodly gain, pleasure, ease, and power.

The Federal government has ignored its obligation to enforce righteous law, and is using its authority and power to protect the “rights” of the illegals as though they were citizens, while ignoring its greater obligation to protect the safety and sovereignty of natural born and naturalized citizens.  The illegal have no rights within the structure of US law, since they are not part of the contract between governor and governed.  In particular, they have not sworn to support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States, and hence they have no right to expect protection.

The oath of citizenship: I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.

The internationalists and progressives have ignored the issue of obligations and rights following from citizenship, to claim that the illegals have "human rights”.  The right to healthcare, education, housing, welfare, etc are among those rights extended to the illegal aliens.  But such “rights” are neither God given, nor part of the Constitution.  Rather, these are contracts made by law between citizens via their elected representatives.

The Internationalist and Globalists seek to degrade the distinction of American culture and sovereignty, and homogenize its philosophy with the humanistic/multicultural philosophy that will allow a One World Government.  The aspirations of the various ethnic and religious groups who have goals of invading and overtaking American sovereignty and culture are unwitting allies of the Globalists who use that passions of ethnicity and religion for their own purposes.

The Rights of the Constitution are God given rights, and every human should enjoy them.  But, with rights come responsibilities and obligations.  Thus, if a man wishes to claim the rights and privileges of citizenship, he must necessarily shoulder the burden of responsibility, which includes protecting and defending the Constitution and its laws.  In other words, he must follow the law of the land, and be subject to its provisions for punishment.

The illegal alien has not made a contract of mutual defense nor sworn to obey the nation’s laws.  Without proper transit and acceptance into the domain of such allegiance, the illegal alien does not have the right to reside in the nation without prosecution.  The concepts of “human rights” or “corporate rights” are ill defined terms used by those who protest deportation.  When we are citizens of the world under the authority of a One World Government, such demands will have meaning.  But thankfully, such a time has not come, and the United States is not under the obligation to honor the demands of illegal aliens appealing to the laws of a foreign jurisdiction.

As individual citizens, we can offer charity to the illegal in need of momentary human misery.  But, such charity if carried out for long periods becomes enabling of unlawful behavior that will ultimately dissipate our national identity, moral structure, and rule of law.

The Declaration of Independence declares that all men are created equal, and have the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.  (Note: pursuit of happiness was originally written as “property” in earlier drafts.)  These rights are God given, in that God wants men to have these opportunities in their lives.  But even though they are God given rights, He does not miraculously create societies and governments that must manifest these principles.  The Declaration of Independence was a document written to establish a separate domain, a new governmental island, where these rights would be honored in a new society.  It was the duty and responsibility of those who lived within that domain to organize that government and society so that these rights manifested as the part of the established social experience.

All rights guaranteed by government are administered by other people, and that law is applicable to each society, and functions in the environment of business, politics, and culture.  The society codifies its rules of acceptable behavior as laws that give individuals right to do some things, and restricts them from others.  In a nation where there is little individual embedding of God's law, the state must enforce civility from without and laws proliferate to dictate the minutia of all social protocols.  When a nation is Godly in its corporate and individual psyche, the law need not specifically codify regulations of behavior, and its citizens are free to govern and restrict themselves with only peer and conscience oversight.  The Christian nation is filled with citizens who bow to the principle of “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.”  A nation filled with Godly men need little regulation since all are watching themselves and others.  The righteous community polices its members, and confronts those who violate the social standards.  The citizenry becomes the police, and freedom exists within the limits of social acceptability.

When an illegal comes into a country without authorization, he has not yet engaged in formal sworn allegiance to the laws and culture of the host nation.  Those who have not placed themselves under the contract of obligation do not deserve the protections and benefits of that culture.  Even if the illegal alien acts within the lawful boundaries of his immigrated culture (other than his violation of law by illegal entry), and even if he has the heart of a citizen, his adoption into the new family is incomplete until he has passed through the rituals of swearing allegiance to the family and tribe.  When the adoption into a new family is complete, trust can grow.  Accountability establishes the full measure of relationship which always entails responsibility and privilege.

The Arizona law was written with purposeful intent to comply with the spirit and letter of being Constitutional.  There is no violation of the federal immigration law by asking people to prove their immigration status.  Of course, such a law and power can be abused, but asking a person involved in illegal activity to show their citizenship is not an abuse of power.  Rather, it is a natural part of law enforcement.

The Arizona Illegal Immigration law does not allow authorities to come into your house without a search warrant.  The media is spinning this law as though it were a Hitlerian law, when in fact the law was written by people who are opposing the degradation of law into lawlessness.  It is not compassionate to ignore the immigration status of a person in our society – it is suicidal.  Our society has been brainwashed by the New Age and progressive mantras of privacy, diversity, equality, and fairness to the point that we now honor perversity instead of honoring Godliness.

The Federal government refuses to uphold the immigration laws.  By doing so, the Feds are in fact the lawless violators who should be prosecuted for their gross neglect and dereliction of duty for non-enforcement.  Thus, the states are forced to provide the border defenses required of a sovereign nation.  As part of the union, the States have the right to rely on the Federal Government to provide border defense.

The Constitution provides State sovereignty under the umbrella of a limited Federal Government.  The compromise which allowed the juxtaposition of State Sovereignty and Federalism was truly a miracle of statesmanship.  But, the intended limits on Federal power have all but evaporated.  The cornerstone of State sovereignty is the 10th amendment’

10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Activist judges have used the premise of the commerce clause to regulate and enforce all activities.  And, the citizens have largely accepted this usurpation of power because of the plausible "good" that comes from the Government regulating harmful activities, products, and business practices.  But, when a central agency dictates the "highest standards" that all must follow, we have a de facto authoritarian government.  We have already fallen prey to the Trojan horse of good intentions that brought with it near complete control of all aspects of our lives.

The Commerce Clause: Article I, Section 8, Clause 3: [The Congress shall have power] To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian tribes;

The power given to the commerce clause is based on a false understanding of the meaning of the word “regulate”.  It has been used to give jurisdiction to the Federal government to regulate nearly everything.  But, according to legal dictionaries of the era, the intent of the commerce clause was to keep interstate commerce "regular" rather than to "regulate" every human activity that may in some way be related to interstate commerce.

The Federal government has purposefully vacated its obligation to be a defender of the borders, and instead become a proponent of their dissolution and likewise has become an active agent of dissolving sovereign status.  We should be looking at the Federal government as the villain, not the state of AZ for passing and enforcing laws that by all rights should be the jurisdiction and responsibility of the Federal government.

According to congressman Steve King, 13 United States citizens are killed each day, by drunk driving illegal aliens; 5 children are molested each day by illegal aliens; 30% of criminals in penitentiaries are illegal aliens; illegals are using 800 billion of welfare, education, housing, food stamps, and other social programs per year that were designed to assist American citizens (all of which were the Trojan horses of the New Deal and should be returned to the charity of the private sector), and bankrupted many hospitals.  If not stopped, catering to this lawlessness will result in the bankruptcy, degradation, and eventual dissolution of our society.

The question you raise is actually, "what limits and efforts should be placed on the law enforcement bodies as they attempt to stem the tide of illegal immigration?”  The first question is whether we can trust the people who are administering/enforcing the law to have the heart of righteousness guiding their efforts.  Your reference to Nazi SS entering and searching for Jews is an appropriate metaphor only if the government is an unrighteous one.  Since the government of AZ was fighting the lawless Obama administration, and enforcing the principles of national sovereignty and nationhood embedded in the Constitution, I would trust the AZ government and not the Federal government regarding this issue.  To let the illegals run free, without any possibility of deportation, detection, and punishment for their illegal activities is to leave the law impotent and ineffectual.  Law without enforcement is only words without consequence.

If we truly had a will to end illegal immigration, we need only prosecute and deport all who had entered without proper authorization.  The argument against this has been that the economic disruption would be too great, that we need the illegals to do the work that no legal American would do.  But, this argument is false.  Wages may rise when labor is in short supply, and prices for goods and services may also rise, but such is the price of living in a sovereign state governed by laws that protect sovereignty.

Last week, INS took 300 employees from a company, and within hours an American citizen filled every job.  If we are a nation of law, and we need more workers from other countries, then we change the law so that we import extra workers for temporary authorized work.  There is no need to turn a blind eye to the lawlessness of illegal immigration, there are solutions that can satisfy the needs of the workforce, and stay within the bounds of law.

Having noted this solution, it begs the question, “Why has the Federal Government vacated its responsibility to protect the borders against invasion?”  Incompetence is always a possibility, but as one person said, “nothing in politics happens without intent.”  Possibly there is an alternative motive for allowing the blatant overpopulation of the nation by (non English speaking) illegals other than compassion, or the demands of business for low priced labor doing less skilled work such as picking cabbage, making beds, and doing lawn work.

There are political factions (New World Order/Globalists/Socialists...), which want to destroy America, as it is the last bastion of resistance against their dream of establishing a one-world government.  The illegal immigration piece is just one of the tools in tearing down the borders, language, and culture of that last stronghold resisting their plan.  (They are allowing non citizens to vote – of the nineteen 9/11 hijackers, 13 had the right to vote, but only 3 were here legally.  Democrats have plausibly won elections with voter fraud, ACORN, and a corrupt complicit media that spins the news and its meaning in a direction opposite to righteousness.)  We see the rest of the agenda playing out in Obama's relentless "progressive" initiatives (healthcare, financial reform, government takeovers...).

As you know the Nazis were the "National Socialists".  It is the Obama administration and its socialist agenda that we should fear.  The Socialists of Germany were left wing authoritarians, just as the Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, Communists, and the modern day Socialists.  In the slick oratory of Obama and appointees in his administration, he speaks with confidence and portrays patriots, men returning from service in the Armed forces, Bible believing Christians, supporters of the 2nd Amendment, and Constitutionalists as potential terrorists – people clinging bitterly to guns and religion.  He has framed the immigration debate as an issue about human rights, fairness, international relations, etcetera, but it is none of these things, it is simply about national sovereignty.  Either we have borders and are a nation, or we do not, and we are not.  If an enemy wished to make us impotent as a force to oppose, to homogenize us with the world, and dissolve our distinction as a people and land, the policies of this administration would be effective to that end.

This same man who so mis-characterizes the immigration issue, does the same on numerous other important issues.  He still claims our massive yearly deficit is the fault of George W. Bush, when in fact it was the policies of the Democrats that George Bush did not have the spine or wisdom to oppose that created the Great Recession.  He portrays Wall Street as the villains that created the collapse, when it was his party that enforced provisions of the Community Reinvestment Act that incentivized banks to make subprime loans.  Wall Street then repackaged these inherently low grade investment products and made them appear to be desirable vehicles.  This ultimately caused the massive collapse when the economy turned down.  Wall street does not need more regulation, government needs to get out of the business of social engineering.  Our current president is a master of deception and spinning his perspective as simply true by declaration, and the opposing arguments unworthy or even considering.  The nation has fallen under the spell of a pied piper leading our nation to enslavement and death.

The church must stand up against the demagoguery and deception creeping over our land.  If the church does not our take a potent stand against this leviathan, our nation will likely fall subject to the socialist order.  The evidence suggests that we may in fact be in the last days prophesied by Revelation, and the beast may already be among us.

God Bless,
Thomas
