Government Is Evil

Dear Thomas,

I happened upon the website "The Christian Constitutional Republic" and read your article "Is Government Evil?"  Having lived for 68-years, and 69 by next month, I have come to realize that virtually no human being has the answers to the innumerable problems of human life.  We can fantasize about "limited government", but it is NEVER going to happen.  Government by its very nature is self-serving and always tends to expansion.  That government serves special interest groups instead of the general population is beyond doubt.

Abuse of human beings happens worldwide, in all countries on earth and happens in the secular world, as well as in the world of religions.  Abuse happens from the orthodox medical system, the vaccine system, the pharmaceutical drug empire, the fraudulent cancer industry, the police and enforcement, judges and courts, prisons, schools and colleges and in every area of human life.  We live in the age of tasers, where many people have died from being tasered by overly "enthusiastic" enforcers.  Badges and uniforms seem to attract people with low self-esteem, and some tend to be sadistic.

We live in an age of endless wars of death and destruction, and should the entire population be inundated with photos and videos of real war and what war does to men, women, children, babies, pregnant women, the old and young alike, most likely there would be an immediate uprising such as this nation has never seen.  War is hell.  War is a racket.  War is a vast $money machine.  War is death.  War is famine.  War is homelessness.  War causes suicides.  War causes great psychological and mental problems.  War is anti-God, anti-Christ and anti-human.  War is diabolical and satanic.  It was Jesus Christ who stated that "Satan was a murderer from the beginning".  And yet, there are "Christians" who think that God is a murderer, based upon the Old Testament and Revelation.  They say that the barbarity reflects God’s character, and his sovereign justice.  I very much disagree with that belief.

"Christians" and their "pastors" always proclaim that God is the author of human governments, but I say that God is NOT the author of man-made governments, any more than He is the author of man-made religions.  The world of churches is just as much a man-made religion as all others.  Amazingly Jesus stated that His followers have ONLY ONE MASTER – Christ.  Therefore human government is NOT master, nor are man-made laws, nor are "pastors", and not even "the Bible."

Perhaps many of the world’s problems actually are founded in the "Holy" books of the religions of men, and that includes the King James Bible.  The Bible has caused massive problems for human beings, and the proof of this is in the innumerable divisions in the church world, the mass confusion, the conflicting doctrines, customs and practices, the endless bickering, the endless arguing about what is and what is not "truth", and so forth.

Jesus came to set the captives free and I suppose we could interpret that statement in different ways.  Government is NOT freedom, it is captivity.  It is force, compulsion, threat, intimidation and violence.  It takes what does not belong to it, therefore it is a thief.  It murders without end in merciless trumped up wars and is therefore an instrument of Satan.  It lies massively and uses the "news" media for mass-propaganda.  It is a liar, thief and murderer, just like the devil.  It makes pretenses about "security" and "safety", all the while doing evil.

We have come to a time in world history, where it seems that insanity and madness have gripped the minds of those who rule and those who influence the actions of our government and others around the world.  There is NO security in spite of science fiction weapons of war.  There is no security in spite of "Homeland Security" or the "Patriot Act."  There is no security from government, since government has gone to the extreme of branding the citizens as "terrorists" and implemented policies that defy all common sense.

No wonder Jesus Christ hand picked FISHERMEN as personal representatives, while bypassing the religious elite.  Perhaps if our presidents were farmers or fishermen, there might be some common sense in government, because lawyers, who are the primary politicians, obviously have very little sense.  Ron Paul is in my opinion, one of the rare men in Washington with any real vision or common sense.  Most of the others serve special interests.

We are left speechless with the actions of government and there is no end.  Perhaps solutions are really quite simple, it is just that human vanity, pride, the love of the praise of men, greed, fear, and lack of humility and so forth overwhelm the power-mongers and the war-mongers.  Virtually everything in life is a battleground of the human mind.  Many call evil – good and good – evil, they call war – peacekeeping.  They call aggression – defense.  They call wars—fighting for "freedom and democracy", when the real motives for war are resources (such as oil, minerals, water and so forth), land, territory, power, control, One-World government, greed, fueling the behemoth $money and $profit military industrial complex and so forth.  All wars revolve around mass-propaganda.

In our day and age we see endless false-flag operations being carried out not only in the U.S., but around the world, and for political motives, often blaming innocent individuals or entire groups or nations.  To be a whistleblower is to be crucified for exposing darkness.  There was never a greater whistleblower than Jesus Christ, who demolished man-made religion as reflected in Matthew 23.  And for that He was viciously abused and crucified.  Many today, the world over are assassinated by professional assassins, for political motives, and often made to look like "accidents" (Princess Diana, etc.), or "suicide."

Oddly, in the end, there is no gain in insane wars or obscene wealth, since all men exit life on earth via the grave and return to dirt.  Suppression of truth, censorship of truth, silence about truth, distortion of truth and so forth are the tools of governments and their accomplices in the mass-"news" media.  Disinformation, misinformation and playing on words are common in the world of politics and greed.

It will never happen, but if ALL human beings were willing conscientious objectors, there would be no wars.  If ALL human beings would NEVER work for government, there would be no government, and to be sure, all those who do work for government ensure their own slavery and that of future generations.  We can talk of "limited" government, but show me that it exists?  Where is it?  Government by its very nature is tyranny.  If all men understood that the ONLY LEGITIMATE GOVERNMENT is God Almighty and would live by what Jesus Christ taught (LOVE, COMPASSION, MERCY, EMPATHY and HUMILITY), then Jesus Christ is our all sufficiency and there would be no need for dictators and tyrants running the world.

When will men ever "beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks?" The world awaits!

Naturally, I have volumes to say, but in the latter part of my life, I have lost all faith in human governments no matter the form.  Some things may sound good on paper, but where is the FRUIT?

Jesus Christ does not torture people as men do and so the doctrine of "eternal hell" is a very false belief and easily proven to be a hoax.

What percentage of the people of the world are psychos, who are destroying life on earth and the rest of us have no choice but to coexist with these destroyers, who have no conscience?

What a mystery, that God our Creator seemingly makes no stand to intervene and stop the blood thirsty and the insane from their anti-God and anti-human behavior.

Talk is cheap.  Where is "good government?"  It does not exist.  All governments are corrupt to the core.

Cordially,

Van

Dear Van,

To begin with, thank you so much for responding to my essay.

Your reply to my essay, “Is Government Evil” illustrated the black and white judgment of the Libertarian mind which I was confronting.  You have made a declaration of absolute truth, that there is no good government, all war is evil, and that power corrupts all men.  I agree that all governments have failed in being divine instruments of justice and righteous judges of character, and have been poor judges of priority.  Governments use force because that is the tool of government.  Force is not inherently bad, it is just a tool, and if used rightly, it can be use to compel righteousness, which is what government should do if it is operating as an instrument of God on Earth.  If Godliness is the object being forced, then force is good, and vice versa.

The real question is, how does government know God’s will.  And the answer is that this is a government of the people.  And yes, a democracy in its most stark terms is mob rule, or tyranny of the majority.  Thus, to be willing to be subject to the rule of the majority, the nation must be good, a God seeking and God fearing people.  When the people are seeking God, then the group expression of the people is that of Godliness, and in the direction of His will.  When the people are rebellious or self centered, then the animal passions will rule and the rule of the majority will be equivalent to the tyranny of a bad king.  And yes, you can’t expect to sin against yourself and God, and to not experience earthly repercussions.

Note: that the Federal Government was not authorized to regulate personal morality, but the States were given the authority to legislate morality.  It was Woodrow Wilson who made a crusade of Federal legislation of morality, and it is against this monolithic command of the Federal government that Conservatism/Tea Party-ism rebels.

One expression of the Libertarian vision is a rebellion the State legislating Godliness.  I agree with the rejection of the Feds regulating morality, but in the Constitutional Republic, the States have every right to do so.  Ayn Rand was Godless, and the Libertarian movement is likewise largely a Godless cult worshiping Liberty and the Market.  But, both liberty and the market are minor archetypes/gods/principalities.  Neither can be used as universal standards against which to judge men or society.

The first objection the Libertarian has against the State is legislation that mandates by force against self destruction (e.g. Adultery, fornication, homosexuality, drug use, idolatry, etc.).  The Libertarians and Liberals have been largely successful in legalizing most private consensual sin.

The second objection the Libertarian typically has to the State is the rampant and deep invasion into the control of the economic, behavioral life of individuals and business.  They object to the redistribution of wealth by taxes, and transfer payments in the form of medicare and social security.  They object to the regulation of all human interactions.  Such a Laissez Faire approach to governing is consistent with the Founders and Tea Party principles, but it should not be confused with the absolute elimination of government that the Libertarian actually believes is the final and best evolution of society and economy.

When debating with the Libertarian, it is necessary to make the distinction between State and Federal authority, and the penalization of sin and government control/regulation of all aspects of life.

A state may choose to regulate sin or not, just as it may choose to regulate a form of business or building practice.  The States were meant to be laboratories of democracy.  And, as a wise nation, we should take the successes from those experiments and apply them widely at the State level.  The Constitution gives the Federal government a domain of authority, outside of which morality should not be applied as a Federal mandate.  Such decrees stop the experimentation that keeps the nation’s soul and psyche flexible.

These two forms of rebellion against the force of the state should be confronted separately.  The typical argument against government regulation of personally destructive behaviors lists the lengthy litany of governmental regulatory abuse.  But, simply citing examples of government abuse does not prove that all government is abusive or evil, and such is the argument typically used.  Such arguments do not prove a universal evil associated with government mandating morality, business practices, or social customs.  Rather, the debate should be about whether a particular law regulating xyz moral, business, or social custom is good and Right.  The data and the people’s preference should be considered and changes made as appropriate.  A government truly of the people (A Representative Democracy), divided into separate jurisdiction and legislative domains (the States, Counties, and Localities), allows for the experimental implementation of various regulatory and enforcement schemes.  If government is abusive in such a format, then, 1) The people are not paying attention, 2) The morality of the people is bent toward evil, and/or 3) There is actually a tyranny of money or power that is manipulating the controls of government.

Just because government has been imperfectly implemented on earth does not mean that government is evil, it only means that men are imperfect in their implementation of government.  The Bible is the only solid evidence mankind has of God’s intended perfect pattern for mankind.  Just because men have imperfectly interpreted the Bible, does not mean that the Bible is evil, incorrect, or irrelevant.

You have spoken many truths about the tendencies of government and this history of governmental abuse, but you have not proven that government cannot be organized and harnessed as a useful tool to actually benefit and advance the people.
