Critique of Libertarianism

The essays in this section are the result of debate with Libertarians, and the study of Libertarian philosophy on www.mises.org and other Libertarian writers. I believe that Libertarianism is based upon good intentions, as an exaltation of the Freedom that seems that each man should have, but is often deprived from him by Government. In I Peter, we see references to government and obeying it, because it is the tool of God. But, an unrighteous government is not to be obeyed and it is using force to coerce sin. I believe it is wrong to follow such a command as though it were God’s will for us to sin by the command of the State. I believe Libertarianism is a threat equal to that of Communism and Islam. Libertarianism is a Godless religion, that has exalted Liberty as its object and principle of worship, and condemned government as the embodiment of evil. Thus, Libertarianism functions as a surrogate religion for those who have not been able to rationalize the existence of God or come to peace with the numerous paradoxes of good and evil, God’s sovereignty and Free will.
