The Passion of the Socialist/Communist/Leftist
by:Thomas Lee Abshier, ND

On the Glenn Beck show (2PM, PST, Fox News), Glenn regularly gives evidence that a revolutionary, radical, liberal element of society has created an alliance of assorted communist, eco, feminist, homosexual, socialist, groups and unions, that are bound together by their common goal to fundamentally change America, and in the process destroy the Capitalism aka, the Free Market.  (Note: "Capitalism" is the pejorative name given to the Free Market by Karl Marx).
Glenn Beck’s examination of the Communist/Left/Union’s agenda and verbiage stimulated an insight about the framework used by the Left that allows them to sincerely campaign against the Free Market and Republican government.
On a recent show, Glenn played an interview of a young adult male who was an employee of Noodle Kitchen (which was formed by a man who risked his own savings, and that of 24 of his family and friends, and worked for years to create it). The young man was quite fluent in his defamation of Noodle Kitchen for its demands and standards of high quality procedure, dress code, punctuality, and productivity. It was the typical seductive socialist rant against the capitalist owner class. He waxed eloquent in his socialist-speak against the wrongs perpetrated against the workers. He felt it appropriate that the workers take over the means of production, and then hire the owner at the same wages as the workers, but only if he were productive.
This stereotypic Communist railing against the system deserves transcription.
Anyway, this particular line of philosophical-political-economic advocacy is something that has puzzled me since my UCLA days when I was fed a steady diet of Leftist ideology from my liberal friends, Political Science teachers, and the speakers on Bruin Walk. It would all be easy to dismiss these rants if the charges of abuses in capitalism were all false.  But, capitalism actually does give an incentive and opportunity to make money by lying, cheating, and stealing in various ways.
The abuses of capitalism include monopoly in it multitudinous forms, unhealthy working conditions, poor quality covered up with surface enhancements, false claims, improper waste disposal, government-corporate alliance influenced by the money of lobbyist and graft, violations of the law covered by secrecy and a corrupt judiciary, and suppressed wages by manipulation of the labor market.
Such abuses are not an imagination or a manufactured theory-tool of the Radical Left. But, this does not mean that the Free Market is evil or inherently abusive. Rather, real freedom allows for the potential of evil expression, since real Freedom exists only in the environment with the potential to choose wrong.
The Leftist is committed to eliminating the Free Market, rather than reforming it.  The Left declares that only when the workers control the means of production can the world be freed from the abuses of capitalism. The Communist Left argues that the temptations to abuse within the Capitalistic System are so great that Capitalism cannot be rehabilitated.
The countervailing forces that can act against such abuses are:
1) Information transparency
2) Mobility of labor
Both of these solutions are ideals of the Free Market.
Mobility in the workforce, transparency of wages, and disclosure of working conditions allows comparison of the conditions and compensation between peers.  A relative standard allows all to judge the fairness and acceptability of their pay vs productivity.
Transparency allows grist for the mill of discussion and examination that can establish a right moral standard in each circumstance.  Comparisons of conditions within a community allows identification and elimination of abuses by the natural attrition that occurs when people are allowed to freely move away from pain and toward pleasure.
Capitalism can be implemented with elements of slavery, abuse, injustice. This does not mean that Capitalism is the equivalent of Maoism, Stalinism, or other totalitarian 5-year plan type systems. The owner can under-compensate his employees by capitalizing on the isolation of his workers and limiting the worker’s available options for alternate employment.  The owner could use the gradient of effort required to find alternate employment as leverage to compensate the worker at a rate less than an actual Free Market (frictionless mobility and transparent workplace) would support.  Poor working conditions, long hours, and a host of other abuses of capitalism can exist with a workforce sufficiently isolated and immobilized.
The Left views such working and pay conditions as evidence of Capitalism nurturing the spirit of slavery or torture.  But in fact, none of the abuses of Capitalism could prosper long in a truly free/flat gradient-free market.  When the barriers to mobility and information fall, the workers move, change jobs, threaten to move, rebel, speak out, and organize. In some way they reach an appropriate level of compensation for their skill.
When the flow of information is slow and movement restricted by various barriers and resistance, workers will not easily find appropriate compensation and working conditions.
The real world does not offer gradient-free movement between opportunities to work and compensation. But, each employer can be fair, and exercise his authority and requirements in a righteous way. No doubt there are employers who compensate fairly and others who knowingly do not.  The choice each man makes probably corresponds to some degree with his moral standard. Those who love righteousness do it willingly, and those who love self more than God and others do it grudgingly. The market is dictated by the minimum standards of the market.
The angry idealistic Leftists have generalized the examples of Capitalism’s abuses and from that justify their broad condemnation of "Capitalism as an institution". Thus, the worst examples of Capitalism, the very opposite to the ideals of the Free Market have been touted as representing its very soul. Rather than condemning the abuses, and promoting its solutions by implementation of righteousness in the workplace, the Communist Left has demanded that the problems be solved by totally replacing capitalism with a state-controlled economy.
The essence of the demands of the Leftist is "covetousness". (Note: “Thou shalt not covet,” is one of the 10 Commandments.) The campaign to implement communism is based on the taking of the fruit of another man's labors, and giving it to another who has not earned it, but the principle of fairness/equality dictates its distribution to the less fortunate.
I see the origin of yet another social/political/economic problem as having a spiritual base. Men have been polarized toward evil by the idolatry of a god other than God. The god in this case is equality.  The mechanism to obtain it is the Unions, with their congregation of "the Workers". The enemy they fight in the war to oppose the enemies of their god is the Capitalist. They vilify him for profiting in the use of money, and thus making much more than those without the inheritance, industry, or intelligence.
(Note: Money corresponds to the credit/trust, effort, and organization that surrounds a man. Having served others, a man deserves service. When that service is recognized as valuable, a scrip is issued by the recipient of the service.  The scrip is a credit that says I deserve valuable compensation for the service/product rendered.  This scrip, when taken into circulation is in effect representation that value has been created, and value is in turn worthy of being consumed.  Possession of the scrip is the equivalent to owning the right to be served.
Banks can create money, new, out of nothing, by crediting a man’s account.  They do so because of their trust in his ability, commitment, and plan. His effort, productivity, and return of scrip from those who considered his service valuable convert the new money into corresponding wealth.  The bank receives an interest payment for their effort as a judge of character, plan, and point of accountability to the loanee.)
There is a great deal of dissonance between what I see as the potential and actual wrongs committed by Capitalism, and the cries of the Left against it. Truly, if the abuses of Capitalism are allowed to function unchecked by morality, it will produce a hell world. But, the solution proposed by the Radical left will much more certainly produce the hell they decry.
The Radical Left has chosen to focus on the deficiencies, failings, and abuses of capitalism, and in response have promoted a social system that is far more evil than the evil they fight. Such is the fate and service of the fool, the useful idiot, the pawn of Satan. Recognizing this error of generalization makes it clear that these people are possessed by a spirit that has blinded them as they worship their false gods. They believe their ideology and their theory of life will save them and give them the pleasant life they desire. But, in fact it will bring them into the very slavery that they so strongly fight.
While job mobility is not without gradient, in the USA the perception of the worker being trapped in his jobs is exaggerated.  With sufficient effort, the system actually allows the freedom to leave one job and go to another. It requires motivation, effort, and risk, but with sufficient persistence, success will eventually come. Mobility and searching for employment opportunity has been made even easier by the Internet. Regarding corporate mobility, the CEO of 3M recently said, “Businesses are not indentured servants who cannot leave the country when it is hostile to business.” The same is true for employees. It may seem difficult to move, but such limitations are more due to the obstacles of life, rather than an oppressive capitalistic system.
The catechism of Luther emphasizes that we should not covet another person's goods, talents, or position. Rather, we should help our neighbor and their business, and avoid causing harm. In the process, we should not neglect our own business, but offer assistance that does not harm our own livelihood.
Many people who work hard are the grateful slaves to a corporation, and for their service they are paid very well. People who work hard and live frugally, can save and become wealthy on a modest salary. This is not the brutal definition of slavery. Most people don't like some part of their job, but if they endure the unpleasant part, and do well in the performance of their duties, they may be paid well for their work.
If people are truly suffering because of the wages or working conditions in America, a man can find employment elsewhere. Most of the suffering and slavery people experience is in their own minds. The cure for most suffering is changing the focus from what is missing to gratitude for the part that he does have.
I have found that when asked to do work I did not like, if I did it as if I was doing it for the Lord, as the scriptures require of me, then I found that the task I once hated became one of my most favorite, I excelled at it, and was blessed and honored for it. A person who kicks at the goads will be feel that life is miserable on almost every subject. But, the misery is not the product of an unregulated Free Market, rather such misery is of the man's own creation.
This article could be taken as sympathy and empathy for the Left, but it is not. The people who are deceived by evil, and serve the purposes of evil, are agents of evil themselves because of their service. We can call them victims, deluded, or caring and sensitive people who just want a better world, but regardless of their motivation and the genesis of their direction, they are still serving evil, and the world will suffer if it follows their protests and logic.
This analysis is an effort to understand how people can be seduced into embracing a truly hellish solution to a very real problem. Being fooled or seduced does not give them a pass for the damage they are doing to society, the lies they tell, the tricks they use, or their subversion of the system. Their delusion and deception is not an acceptable state. This essay is merely an effort to understand how the Left was seduced, and to give those who are wise an insight into the tricks of concept and perception that Evil uses to lure its victims.
We cannot compromise with the principles or evil, or those who have embraced evil. What benefit is there in compromise with those whose ultimate goal is enslavement? Evil sees our sympathy, care, and willingness to compromise as weakness, and in its eyes, we are seen as disgusting and worthy of death. The spirit of evil desires blood and death, and all the preliminary dance and ceremony is simply a facade meant to distract and ultimately extract their blood meal. Evil fears the truth and runs from people who stand up to them. Evil is overcome by good, but sometimes goodness must use the sword. There is a time for all things, but the battle is only truly won when a man’s heart is changed. The real battle we fight is for the sanctification of the earth and bringing the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.
The above comments illustrate the gradient between the righteous and unrighteous implementation of the Free Market.  The righteous employer demands quality, punctuality, and industry.  The unrighteous employer uses deceptive methods to market, substandard processes and/or materials to manufacture products that endanger the consumer and/or employees, while under-compensating his employees.
Such examples do not indict the entire capitalistic/Free Market system; rather the existence of these possibilities illustrates how pockets of oppression and suffering can form and persist in the Free Market. This does not imply that the evil will always be there, nor that the Left is justified in its desire to tear down and remake the system into a government dictated system of imposed state morality.
The Left has taken abuses of Capitalism, and generalized them. They have simply lied about the whole by using actual examples of harm and abuse and generalizing their examples. This essay is an expose of the lie about all workers being oppressed and underpaid.  They completely ignore the beneficial economic effects associated with the entrepreneur who takes a risk to form a business.
The Left remains oblivious to the fact that there are truly victims and oppressed workers, like those Jamie Glazov describes in the communist states. The Stalinist/Communist system embraced by the Left is evil, and their socialist/state-run system, which they think is “fair”, will destroy everything good and will enslave everyone. Satan and the few ruling elite will prosper while the world suffers.
